Camp Axolotl

[Formerly “Piñata’s Revenge Camp”]

Our Camp

Camp Axolotl @ La Calaca Village is based in Reno, NV and was founded in 2007. Our infrastructure is stored in Reno and Empire, NV.  Our community claims San Miguel de Allende (Mexico), Reno, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Amarillo and Chicago as home.  We are proud to have hosted participants from all over the world as well.

We are artists, musicians and builders.  Our community of wonderful makers and thinkers offers a chance to learn, participate, and teach while we dance, build community and art together. We ask our participants to embrace the term, “earn your Burn!”

Camp Axolotl supports Mexico’s powerful and endangered salamander, the beautifully regenerative, axolotl.  We are the primary caregivers of our giant Axolotl: Earth Guardian Art Car (founded in 2016).  We also show support and raise funds and awareness for this creature in Mexico and outside the event, all year long.

Join the build!  Stay for strike!  Do a work-weekend!  Participate in an Honoraria project!  Volunteer outside of camp!  Take on more than just your shift!  Help us make it fly this year!  Don’t just attend the event in Black Rock City - come to be a participant in Camp Axolotl @ La Calaca Village and make Burning Man happen.
