The Oasis
OUR NEW ART PROJECT FOR 2024!
Every deep desert experience needs an oasis where weary adventurers can recharge and recuperate. The Oasis Lounge is a curious, cozy family room tucked at the far edge of the deep playa. A loungey space with vibey tunes, it’s perfect for late night conversations and pre-sunrise cuddle puddles.
The dia de los muertos procession
Attending Burning Man this summer? Consider participating in our camp’s annual Dia de los Muertos processional on Thursday night starting from our camp and voyaging out into the Playa.
Buddha at the Trash Fence
The Buddha at the Trash Fence
2022 Burning Man Project Honoraria Arts Grant
Originally set to premiere at the 2020 Burn, The Buddha at the Trash Fence is a giant-scale, recycled puppet project to raise environmental awareness and promote an eco-conscious community. Lit up by solar panels and LEDs, the giant Buddha puppet will be made mostly of recycled bottles and re-purposed bicycle parts to control the puppet's hand and head mechanisms.
Digital Dalang
Digital Dalang combines traditional Indonesian “wayang kulit" shadow puppets with motion reactive projected visuals. The project made its debut on the playa in 2018 and with the support of La Calaca Village, became the first Indonesian Honoraria recipient. The art installation was handpicked by Burning Man founder, Larry Harvey himself to receive the prestigious art grant and the Dalang Dalang will be returning to the village this year after its tour to Nevada City's artwalk. The stage will be running nightly after sunset, hosting puppetry, movie nights and band performances around its warm fire pits. Support your village project below!
